“A World Without Alzheimer’s Disease” is the vision of the Alzheimer’s Association. Sharing in that vision, Heart to Heart Hospice Foundation has donated a total of $16,000 to the “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” this year, in support of the organization’s purpose of providing care and support for those facing Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
“With more than five million people in the U.S. suffering from Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, it is estimated that, this year alone, the disease will cost the nation $277 billion. This event helps us provide care and support for the 180,000 Michiganders affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, and helps us to fund important research to end this terrible disease. This is why support from organizations like Heart to Heart Hospice Foundation is so vital. We cannot thank them enough for their help in raising awareness and funds for this important cause.” says, Jennifer Lepard, President and CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Michigan Chapter.
Heart to Heart Hospice Foundation’s Alzheimer’s Support Program also eases the burden of caregivers through the funding of caregiver support programs, continuing education for healthcare professionals, community education programs and mission-driven organizations such as the Alzheimer’s Association.
